Warranty Policy
Warranty Policy
Last Updated: February 11, 2026
Metro Shipping Containers (“Metro Shipping Containers,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to providing quality shipping containers and related products. This Warranty Policy explains the warranty coverage that may apply to products purchased through Metro Shipping Containers.
Warranty coverage may vary depending on the container’s condition, age, manufacturer, product type, and any modifications or customizations requested by the customer.
1. New and One-Trip Shipping Containers
New and one-trip shipping containers are generally manufactured for long-term use and are inspected before delivery.
Unless a separate written warranty is provided for a specific container, warranty coverage for new or one-trip containers is limited to manufacturing defects that existed at the time of delivery.
Normal wear, cosmetic imperfections, and conditions resulting from transportation, handling, weather, or customer use are not considered manufacturing defects.
2. Used Shipping Containers
Used shipping containers are previously used cargo containers and may show signs of normal use.
These may include:
-
Dents and scratches
-
Surface rust
-
Faded paint
-
Minor corrosion
-
Previous repairs
-
Floor wear
-
Door or gasket wear
-
Cosmetic imperfections
Used containers are sold according to their stated condition and specifications. Unless a separate written warranty is provided, used containers do not carry a general warranty against normal wear or pre-existing cosmetic conditions.
3. What the Warranty Covers
When a written warranty applies, coverage may include qualifying defects in materials or workmanship that existed before or at the time of delivery.
Metro Shipping Containers will determine whether a reported issue qualifies for warranty coverage based on the product’s condition, documentation, inspection, and applicable warranty terms.
If a covered defect is confirmed, Metro Shipping Containers may, at its discretion:
-
Repair the affected component
-
Replace the affected component
-
Provide a replacement product
-
Provide another appropriate remedy permitted under the applicable warranty
The specific remedy will depend on the nature and severity of the issue.
4. What the Warranty Does Not Cover
Warranty coverage does not apply to damage or problems caused by:
-
Normal wear and tear
-
Improper use or handling
-
Accidents
-
Abuse or neglect
-
Unauthorized modifications
-
Structural alterations performed by third parties
-
Improper installation
-
Improper placement or site preparation
-
Overloading
-
Failure to maintain the container
-
Exposure to unusually harsh conditions
-
Natural disasters
-
Fire, flooding, or other external events
-
Damage occurring during customer-arranged transportation
-
Damage caused after delivery
-
Cosmetic imperfections that existed before delivery
-
Rust or corrosion resulting from environmental exposure or lack of maintenance
Warranty coverage may also be void if the container is modified, repaired, cut, welded, painted, insulated, or otherwise altered without prior written approval from Metro Shipping Containers when such modification affects the component or issue being claimed.
5. Modifications and Custom Work
Containers that are modified or customized may have different warranty terms.
Examples include:
-
Roll-up doors
-
Personnel doors
-
Windows
-
Electrical systems
-
Insulation
-
Ventilation
-
Shelving
-
Flooring modifications
-
Plumbing
-
HVAC systems
-
Custom layouts
-
Other structural or specialty modifications
Third-party modifications are not covered by Metro Shipping Containers.
Where a modification is performed by Metro Shipping Containers or an approved contractor, the applicable warranty for that work will be communicated separately when applicable.
6. Third-Party Components
Certain products or components may be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty rather than a Metro Shipping Containers warranty.
Examples may include:
-
Locks and hardware
-
Electrical components
-
HVAC equipment
-
Refrigeration equipment
-
Doors and windows
-
Other installed equipment
When applicable, Metro Shipping Containers may assist customers with submitting a warranty claim to the manufacturer or supplier. The manufacturer’s warranty terms will apply to those products.
7. Customer Inspection
Customers should inspect their container as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
Customers should check for:
-
Structural condition
-
Doors and door operation
-
Flooring
-
Roof condition
-
Exterior condition
-
Interior condition
-
Accessories or modifications
-
Any visible damage
Any damage that appears to have occurred during delivery should be reported to Metro Shipping Containers as soon as possible, preferably before or immediately after the delivery is completed.
Photographs or videos may be requested to help evaluate a claim.

Metro Shipping Containers will review the reported issue and determine whether it falls within the applicable warranty terms.
If the issue is determined to be covered, we will discuss the appropriate remedy with the customer.
If the issue is not covered, the customer may be responsible for inspection, repair, transportation, labor, or other related costs.

12. No Implied Extension of Warranty
A repair, replacement, or other warranty remedy does not automatically create a new or extended warranty period unless required by applicable law or expressly provided in writing.
13. Limitation of Warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Metro Shipping Containers’ warranty obligations are limited to the specific remedies described in the applicable written warranty.
Nothing in this Warranty Policy is intended to exclude or limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
